I had leftover carrots, so today they are paired with a bologna sandwich with some cheese on the side. The bread: slices of cork, the bologna: slices of pink pencil erasers and the cheese: slices of yellow erasers. The same yellow erasers I used for the yellow egg yolk in egg salad. The mustard is yellow ochre paint.
I save lots of little things I think I might be able to use. Corks are one of those things. I've already used an artificial cork to make chicken salad, and as I was cutting up the cork the slices looked like sliced turkey breast, but I really wanted to have a vegetable with the turkey.
It just came to me...toothpicks! I cut some pieces of toothpick and use cadmium orange paint, and I had carrots. The gravy is brown paint mixed with white glue. Nest I want to make a turkey plate with peas. But I'm still working on it.
Welcome to my Blog.
My name is Carol Graham and I've been making 1/12" miniatures since I was a kid, long before I had any free cash to spend. I started this blog to dispel fears that this hobby needs to be expensive. It doesn't and I'll try to demonstrate that through my tutorials.
